West Java Vice President Highlights Late Bangunelt KS: Because He Is Busy Wanting To Be A Vice President Candidate

SURABAYA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin said only West Java provinces from all provinces on the island of Java do not yet have a Regional Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KDEKS).

The vice president without mentioning his name then joked about the nomination of the head of the West Java region regarding the 2024 presidential election.

"In Sumatra, relations have been formed. Apart from West Java, all of them, those who are late in West Java, are busy because they want to become presidential and vice presidential candidates," said Vice President Ma'ruf in a question and answer session for Economic Management, Sharia Finance, and the Inauguration of the Halal, Safe, and Healthy Culinary Zone. Ma'ruf explained that the central government had launched various efforts to develop the Islamic economy and finance.

These efforts, for example, by building the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS), then forming the Association of Islamic Economic Experts, and the Islamic Economic Community. Therefore, Ma'ruf asked the regions to also coordinate institutions to drive the economy and Islamic finance.

The government, said Ma'ruf, has also formed alands that is expected to be an extension of KNEKS to develop the economic potential of sharia in various regions.

"Therefore, to move, if KNEKS does not connect to the regions, there must be an institution that drives the regions, the governor and deputy governor directly lead it," he said.

Currently, said Ma'ruf, there are already 22lands throughout Indonesia and the number will continue to grow.

Ma'ruf gave an example of the rapid development of Islamic economics and finance in East Java (Jatim).

"In my opinion, East Java is very large, yes, both in the agricultural sector, trade, fisheries sector, MSME industry and also in the province, one of the provinces that has this halal industrial area, East Java," he said.

The Vice President asked East Java to maintain the achievements of Islamic economic and financial development. East Java has just succeeded in winning the overall champion of Anugerah Adinata Syariah.

"Even though yesterday I became the overall champion, I ask for another year's overall champion, and enthusiasm for that," he said.
