Glad Pasar Masomba Palu Traders Get Business Capital Assistance

PALU - President Joko Widodo distributed social assistance and food packages to a number of traders at Masomba Market, Palu City, Central Sulawesi.

Jokowi's arrival in the capital city of Central Sulawesi attended the Opening of Mahasabha XIII Hindu Dharma Indonesia Student Association (KMHDI) 2023, as well as conducting a review of traditional markets to ensure that the availability of foodstuffs is met at affordable prices.

The President asked that the assistance provided by traders could be used for business development, so that commodities were sold more varied.

Rovina, one of Paras Masomba's traders, said he was happy to receive cash assistance worth IDR 1.2 million given by the president and would use the assistance as capital for business development.

"I am very happy to be given directly from the president, later the money will be used as capital for adding goods to sell," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 30.

Rislan, a local trader, thanked President Jokowi for wanting to come to Palu City and take a closer look at trading activities in traditional markets.

"We feel the government is paying attention and assisted with capital, there are also food packages," he said.

In addition to providing assistance, President Jokowi also monitors the prices of basic commodities.

"The price of food in Palu City is stable, I hope that the Regional Government (Pemda) will continue to strive to maintain the stability of basic necessities," said Jokowi.

In addition to stable prices of goods and food, Central Sulawesi's economic growth is also fast, which is currently at 13 percent, surpassing national economic growth.
