Tarakan PSDKP Secures Ship And 3 Fishermen Claim To Be Malaysian Citizens Bring Fish Bombs

"According to the perpetrators, they caught fish using their own explosives," he said. Currently, the three fishermen are still witnesses who are planned to be secured at the Tarakan Police Headquarters. Harris said that although the status was still the three witnesses, his party immediately took steps to coordinate with the relevant agencies, namely the prosecutor's office, courts and consulates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the handling of foreign nationals (WNA). The evidence of the Malaysian fishing boat has been secured at Tengkayu II Tarakan Port.

The three of them used destructive fishing gear, namely a fish bomb in accordance with the provisions of law number 45/2009 concerning amendments to law number 31/2004 concerning Fisheries, article 84 paragraph 1 junto article 8 paragraph 1 with a maximum imprisonment of six years and a maximum fine of IDR 1.2 billion.
