Police Investigate Negligence At Sentosa Hospital In Bogor Regarding Cases Of Exchanged Babies

JAKARTA - The Bogor Resort Police are investigating the alleged negligence of the Sentosa Hospital management (RS), Kemang, Bogor Regency, West Java, regarding the case of an exchange of babies as evidenced by the DNA test results.

"We are still investigating that, later we will convey the results," said Bogor Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro in Bogor, Sunday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the Bogor Police had carried out a number of investigative steps such as examining a number of witnesses, including all nurses and midwives at the hospital on duty when the two mothers gave birth.

According to him, the police have also conducted a series of investigations to uncover the case of this swapped baby, starting with visiting the scene at Sentosa Hospital.

"It's in a series of investigations, hopefully we can get an answer one week ahead," he said.

Rio mentioned that the complaint between A's parents and B's parents, whose baby was swapped at Sentosa Hospital, had been agreed to be completed through restorative justice or restorative justice.

"We have made a joint commitment to a joint settlement, in this case Mrs. S and Mrs. D, we have completed it restorative justice," he explained.

Bogor Police on Friday (25/8) night announced the results of a DNA test stating that two babies and their parents were swapped after one year ago giving birth in the same place, Sentosa Hospital, Kemang District, Bogor.

"Based on the results of the Puslabfor Bareskrim Polri, 99.99 percent of evidence was indeed found based on data provided by the Kapuslabfor that the child was indeed swapped," said Rio.

The series of cases were revealed to the public when the parents of Ciseeng, Bogor Regency, West Java, Siti Mauliah (37) and Muhamad Tabrani (52) reported to the Bogor Police Women and Children Service Unit (PPA) on August 10, 2023.

Siti Mauliah reported that her baby was allegedly swapped after undergoing caesarean surgery at Sentosa Hospital, Kemang District, Bogor Regency on July 18, 2022.
