The Implementation Of Hybrid WFH For DKI Jakarta ASN Will Be Monitored Through Video Calls

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta oversees the state civil apparatus (ASN) while working from home (WFH) via video calling (video calls) to reduce the level of air pollution in Jakarta.

"The supervision is easy, so I asked his superiors directly to 'video call', where is he? At home, where is his house?", said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to reporters as quoted by Antara in North Jakarta, Sunday.

Heru said that this WFH was certainly balanced by providing more work than usual during the first trial for three months from August 21 to October 21, 2023.

Later, he continued, if the trial is effective, his party will report it to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

Then if it is found ineffective because the ASN is not disciplined, it will be placed back in the office.

"If the period is not until October 21, for example it is ineffective, employees or ASN who are WFH at home are not disciplined, I will return it," he said.

In addition, Heru added that related to private companies, they can carry out their own policies regarding WFH in order to help maintain air quality and overcome congestion in the capital city.

"They do business and their business so that we can move forward, all of them are adults to manage each other," he said.

Previously, Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said the work from home (WFH) policy for state civil servants (ASN) would be increased to 75 percent during the activity of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

Heru explained that the WFH trial of ASN was carried out for three months from August 21 to October 21, with a 50 percent WFH scheme and 50 percent working in the office (workfomoffice/WFO).

ASN are exempted from WFH policies, namely those intersecting with public services, such as employees in hospitals and schools.

Then, the WFH policy will be increased from 50 percent to 75 percent of ASN within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government when the ASEAN Summit takes place on September 4-7.

Meanwhile, the distance learning system (PJJ) in schools around the location of the ASEAN Summit is only valid during the ASEAN Summit.

However, teachers and educators at school are still present and are 100 percent active as usual.
