Gelora Will Declare Prabowo For Presidential Candidate At The End Of August

JAKARTA - The Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora) will declare its support for Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) in late August.

So far, the Minister of Defense has received support from five political parties, namely the Gerindra Party, PKB, PAN, Golkar, and PBB.

Secretary General of the Gelora Party Mahfudz Siddiq, said that his support for Prabowo for the 2024 presidential election was 100 percent. Until early August, he said, 38 DPWs throughout Indonesia wanted the former Danjen Kopassus to run again as a presidential candidate.

"As of August 7, we received an official letter from 38 regional leadership councils that unanimously agreed to carry Prabowo as a presidential candidate for 2024-2029," said Mahfudz at the Gelora DPN in South Jakarta, Saturday, August 19.

Meanwhile, Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani, expressed his gratitude for the support from the Gelora Party.

According to him, the Gerindra Party and Gelora have the same views regarding Indonesia's future development.

"This is encouraging. We thank you," said Muzani.

Muzani said that the declaration plan at the end of August will be discussed with Prabowo.

"We are talking about several (data options) we will match the time here (Gelora) with Prabowo. But God willing, it will be the end of August," he said.
