The New Commemoration Of The 76th Anniversary Of Indonesian Independence Of Chinese Citizens In Lombok

The Indonesian Family Planning Association (PSMTI) West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Thursday, held a ceremony to celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

The ceremony was attended by 200 participants, including 45 high school students, 30 junior high schools and 20 elementary schools. The committee also collaborated with schools from the Mandiri Insan Foundation, the Pelita Bangsa Budi Luhur Foundation and the Catholic School in Mataram City.

The chairman of PSMTI NTB, Stheven Suhir (60), revealed the purpose of holding the event, to generate a sense of nationalism for young people.

"We expect the young generation to keep in mind the struggle for independence, fill independence and share with others," he said.

It seems that the participants are so enthusiastic and solemn to attend this ceremony.

"I am very happy to be able to participate in this event held by PSMTI, and hopefully in the future Indonesia will be more advanced," said Dayumang (13), a ceremony participant from the Kesuma Mataram Catholic Middle School.

The activity of enlivening the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, lasted for one week, 10-16 August 2023.

"The activities that we hold include healthy roads, fashion shows, road movements, dances, badminton competitions, drawing competitions, and so on," he continued, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 17.

"Hopefully with a momentum like this, we can increase our sense of brotherhood, and continue to move forward in the future," hoped Angga Jayasaputra (61), Chairman of the Committee for the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
