GORONTALO - A joint team searched residential blocks in the Women's Prison, Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo province.

Head of Gorontalo Women's Prison, Meita Eriza in Gorontalo, Tuesday said the search was carried out to prevent and secure illicit goods and drugs in prisons.

He said that in this search, a number of items were found that were prohibited from being in the residential blocks of correctional inmates, including glass, shaving equipment, cables, peniti, dental stabs, batteries, wind oil and other items.

"We took this item because it was feared that if it was in a residential block like a glass, it would be dangerous if it was used not according to its function," said Meita as quoted by ANTARA, Seras, August 15.

In addition to the search, he said, the Gorontalo City BNN also conducted urine tests on 15 correctional inmates who were caught in drug cases.

"From the results of this urine test, all were declared negative or no one used narcotics or other addictive substances," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Development, Guidance and Information Technology Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Gorontalo Tjahja Rediantana said the raid was carried out as an early prevention of drug trafficking and other prohibited goods.
