JAKARTA - An Iraqi refugee living in Sweden, Salwan Momika, has again committed blasphemy against the Al Quran in the capital Stockholm.

The burning of the Muslim holy book by Momika, assisted by Salwan Najem who is also from Iraq, took place in front of a parliament building in Stockholm.

Momika chanted the anti-Islamic slogan before stepping on and finally burning a copy of the Quran.

However, the actions of the two perpetrators drew a response from a group of Swedish activists who asked them to stop the provocative action.

Police who protected the perpetrators arrested one of the activists who tried to thwart the attack.

Previously, Momika, who was escorted by the police, burned the Qur'an in front of the Stockholm Mosque on June 28 which coincided on the first day of Eid al-Adha.

In recent months, there have been frequent acts of arson and blasphemy against the Quran by Islamophobic figures or groups, especially in northern and Nordic European countries.
