Just Met On Instagram, A Girl In Cilacap Was Blackmailed And Threatened With Nude Photos Circulating

JAKARTA - A girl with the initials CAW (13), a resident of northern Cilacap, became a victim of immoral acts and extortion, by a man she knew via Instagram.

Cilacap Police Chief Kombes Fannky Ani Sugiharto explained, initially the victim became acquainted with the perpetrator with the initials EMA on Instagram social media. The perpetrator also lives in Cilacap. Conversations between the victim and the perpetrator regularly occur without a meeting.

Until March 2023, the perpetrator persuaded the victim to send a photo showing the sensitive part. The victim complied with the perpetrator's request.

Still explained by Fannky, the perpetrator often asked for photos of the victim without clothes, until finally the victim felt scared and didn't want to send more photos. Since then the perpetrator began to threaten the victim, would distribute the photos to social media.

Fannky said the threat was accompanied by extortion. The perpetrator asked the victim for Rp500 thousand.

"The victim was given, but the perpetrator always asked for money. And if he wasn't given he always threatened. 'Want to send a photo or send money.' said Fannky in a short message, Monday, August 14.

The victim, who felt cornered and threatened, reported to his parents and continued to report to the Cilacap Police. Based on the report, the perpetrator was arrested and processed according to the applicable law.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 45 paragraph 1 paragraph 27 paragraph 1 of Law no.19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law no.11 of 2008 concerning ITE and/or peg 29 in conjunction with Article 4 paragraph 1 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia no.44 of 2008 concerning pornography with a maximum imprisonment of 6 years or a maximum fine of 1 billion.
