Vice President: Young Voters Determine The 2024 Presidential Election

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin assesses that young voters who are currently expected to determine the 2024 presidential election quite a lot.

"I think the number of novice (young) voters determines because the number is greater," said the Vice President after opening the XII National Raimuna in 2023 at the Campground and Graha Wisata (Buperta) Wiladatika, East Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 14.

This was conveyed by the Vice President when answering questions from journalists regarding young voters, which amounted to 56.45 percent of the total voters in the 2024 presidential election.

According to the KPU, these young voters consisted of the millennial generation who were born between 1980-1994 and Generation Z who were born from 1995 to 2000.

The vice president said that because this young voter determines, according to him, prospective Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates must be able to accommodate issues related to the interests of young people.

"Prospective candidates who can best provide understanding of what is being done, which attracts the younger generation, I think they will definitely be the choice of the younger generation," said the Vice President.

The Vice President believes that the younger generation today is smart enough and smart enough to choose a candidate for leader.

According to the Vice President, the younger generation is used to following whatever happens through social media.

"What is in the news, everyone knows, already knows, so they can already measure where they choose to go," the value.
