Malaysia Airlines Turns Back In Australia Due To Passenger Emergency Incident

JAKARTA - Malaysia Airlines flight number MH122 departing from Sydney in Australia, to Kuala Lumpur was forced to make a U-turn after experiencing an emergency incident from its passengers.

In a statement by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 14, a passenger on an international flight from Sydney to Malaysia has been arrested.

Police arrested a 45-year-old man without a fight, while all passengers had been evacuated from the plane. No threats have occurred to them.

AFP said the man would be charged Monday night Sydney time, Australia.

Australian police took emergency action and evacuated after being deemed safe for passengers and crew.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Airlines in a statement to the media, explaining for safety purposes, the flight captain made the decision to turn around to Sydney.

The flight carrying 194 passengers and five crew members landed safely at 15:47 local time after taking off at 13:40.

Malaysia Airlines has become a trending topic on social media in Malaysia.

A number of photos and videos show a man talking to the airline's steward in a high tone, and briefly mentioning his name.
