Elementary School Boy In Singkawang Abused By 60 Years Old Grandfather, PKBI Provides Assistance Encourages Perpetrators To Be Strictly Punished

The elementary school boy in Singkawang, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan) became a victim of sexual abuse by a 60-year-old grandfather. The perpetrator has now been detained by the police.

The Office of Law and the Indonesian Family Planning Association (PKBI) of Singkawang City said it provided assistance to victims of the sexual abuse.

"We are trusted to accompany the victim and today (Saturday, August 12, 2023) the perpetrator has been arrested by the Singkawang Police," said PKBI representative Roby Sanjaya, Monday, August 14, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the obscenity took place on Wednesday, July 26 at around 15.30 WIB.

The victim's parents did not receive assistance from PKBI. It is suspected that there were more than one victim of sexual abuse.

"We thank the Singkawang Police for being responsive so that the perpetrator has now been arrested. Based on the perpetrator's confession, two children have been victims, including the victim we are handling," he said.

Roby emphasized that this assistance was also to encourage the legal process to the perpetrators. According to him, pedophiliates should be given appropriate lessons and should not be forgiven.

On that occasion, Roby appealed to parents to always monitor their children, where their children play, with whom, what they do, and so on.

"We must always be aware of mentally ill people like the pedophil grandfather, and that person can be anyone, close people, neighbors, and foreigners," he said.
