Sultan's Father, Victim Of Cable Trap, Says His Son's Condition Is Improved

JAKARTA - Sultan Rif'at Alfatih's father, Fatih Nurul Huda, said that his son's health condition began to show good progress. His weight has also started to rise since being treated at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital on Thursday (3/8).

"The weight has started to rise, if I'm not mistaken as of yesterday it was almost two kilograms," said Fatih at Polda Metro Jaya, Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

Fatih also explained that since being treated by the Police Hospital, his son has continued to carry out a training process around his neck.

"The doctor also focused on other organ functions, coincidentally my son was malnourished yesterday, he turned out to be infected with hepatitis C virus if I'm not mistaken for liver. That's an effect of his condition being too thin," he said.

The team of doctors is currently focusing on treating its organ functions, including its liver, then increasing weight with a target of at least 52 kilograms.

"According to the doctor's calculation with a height of 182 centimeters, it enters or escapes malnutrition, which is at least 52 kilograms. That is the doctor's target, after that the doctor will enter the next stage in the recovery of the neck area, the function of eating, the function of swallowing, the function of speech and breathing," he explained.

Sultan Rif'at Alfatih (20) has been undergoing intensive care for almost a week at the Police Hospital, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta and the effect is heavy, the victim is entangled in fiber optic cables, starting to increase by two kilograms.

"So during the treatment at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, the Sultan was in a condition of improvement, there was a weight gain. The increase was stable according to what we gave to the Sultan. So, in almost one week there was an increase of one to two kilograms," said the Head of the Police Hospital Brigadier General Pol Hariyanto when met by the press at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, Tuesday (8/8).

Furthermore, the team of doctors will coordinate to replace the sonde hose as a food and drink aid for the Sultan, which is still installed.

However, its implementation needs to be careful because it will be affected by the esophagus or Sultan's dining route.

"This has been installed for a long time and the time has been changed, but you have to be careful because the implementation before that when replacing the hose there are obstacles in the esophagus or the patient's concavity," he said.

The National Police Hospital deployed 45 specialist doctors and joint medical personnel in an effort to heal the Sultan who was the victim of an optical fiber cable accident on Jalan Antasari, South Jakarta, on January 5, 2023.
