Gerindra Praises Jokowi's Downstream Policy To Encourage Economic Growth

JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party recognizes that the downstream policy initiated by President Joko Widodo is an advantage that can become new economic resources.

"This is an advantage. This Hilirization is an effort to encourage new economic growth and new economic resources, new state revenues," said Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani at the Jakarta Presidential Palace as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

Muzani went to the Palace to meet President Joko Widodo in his capacity as Deputy Chair of the MPR, together with other MPR leaders.

When delivering a statement to reporters, Muzani explained that in a meeting with the President, the MPR leadership who was present appreciated Jokowi's downstream policy as a bold and extraordinary step.

On the other hand, said Muzani, Jokowi to the MPR leadership expressed his hope that the downstream policy could be continued by the next government and president.

Muzani said Prabowo Subianto appreciated the downstream policy as an extraordinary, courageous breakthrough, becoming an advantage that Jokowi had initiated.

Pak Prabowo considers this an extraordinary initial initiation from Pak Jokowi. Not only in the mining and mineral sectors but also in other sectors, there is sand, there is agriculture, there are plantations and so on. All sectors that can have an impact on state revenues and added value for our economy," said Muzani.
