Visiting Campuses In Sumenep, Vice President Asks Education Organizers Not To Forget Local Wisdom

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin asked Universitas Wiraraja (Unija) to organize education while still paying attention to aspects of local wisdom.

This was conveyed by the Vice President in a scientific oration at the 37th Anniversary of Wiraraja University in Sumenep, Madura, East Java, Wednesday, August 9.

"I also want to advise Universitas Wiraraja to organize education while still paying attention to local wisdom, as Ki Hajar Dewantara ordered. This means that although education is held dynamically following the times, it cannot be separated from the culture and character of the local community," said the Vice President in a press release, Wednesday 9 August.

The Vice President assessed that the Madura community is known as a hard worker and good entrepreneur. For this reason, he hopes that entrepreneurship education at Wiraraja University will continue to be developed.

"I hope that Wiraraja University can continue to optimize these socio-economic capital so that entrepreneurship in Madura continues to grow, creative and innovative local products continue to emerge, and the Madura economy is accelerating," said the Vice President, quoted by Antara.

In addition, with strong religious values in the Madura community, the Vice President believes that he can support Indonesia to become the center of world halal, which is targeted to be realized in 2024.

"The strong religious values in the Madura community, combined with great entrepreneurship, will encourage the growth of Islamic economics and finance at the local level, as well as strengthen the national Islamic economy and finance," he explained.

On this occasion, the Vice President also asked Unija to continue to mobilize interest in learning and schools for the Madura community.

He said graduates of higher education are needed, because they have a depth of insight and knowledge that can be realized for the benefit of society, nation and state.
