JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to seek luxury assets from former officials of the Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Rafael Alun Trisambodo from receiving gratuities. This information was investigated by examining his son, Angelina Embun Prasasya on Monday, August 7. "The witness was present and his knowledge was investigated, among others, on the alleged ownership of luxury assets from the suspect RAT and his family," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, August 8. In addition, the origin of Rafael's money to buy luxury assets is also still being sought. Ali said, investigators explored the various receipts through Arifin Wongsoatmojo, who is an entrepreneur. Finally, the KPK is also looking for tax consultation fees from the problematic taxpayers that Rafael received. This allegation was investigated by Baswara Nugroho Sunartio. "The witness was present and his knowledge was investigated, among others, regarding the alleged RAT suspect who also received a fee for tax consultations from problematic taxpayers," said Ali. In the initial findings of the KPK, Rafael allegedly received gratuities of 90,000 US dollars from several taxpayers through his company, PT Artha Mega Ekadhana (AME). This acceptance has occurred since 2011 when he served as Head of Audit, Investigation, and Tax Collection at the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes East Java 1. Next, the KPK named Rafael as a suspect in the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU). He is suspected of diverting or disguising the hot money he received. Investigators have confiscated a number of Rafael's assets allegedly related to this case. Among them are Toyota Camry and Land Cruiser cars, a giant motorbike of the Triumph 1,200 CC type.

Not only that, the anti-corruption commission also confiscated 20 assets in the form of land and buildings spread across a number of cities such as Yogyakarta and Manado. The value reaches Rp150 billion.
