KPK: Lukas Enembe Doesn't Care About His Health

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe did not care about his health. Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said that the defendant in the bribery and gratification case was not disciplined in taking drugs and even refused to be examined by a doctor.

"Once again, it is factual, that is true, the person concerned does not care about his health," Ali told reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, August 7.

"Even if it is health, the hygiene includes discipline in taking drugs, eating, examinations by KPK doctors, so far we have received information that he refused and I think this situation is very unfortunate," he continued.

Meanwhile, regarding the complaints submitted by dozens of detainees at the KPK Detention Center (Rutan) of the Red and White Building Branch on the condition of Lukas, Ali said this had been communicated.

The detainees complained about the habit of Lukas defecating and urinating carelessly. This was later felt disturbing and made them feel their health was threatened.

"Today there are discussions regarding what plans will be carried out later. This means that we prioritize the comfort of all detainees, yes," he said.

Previously, the Advisory Team for Law and Advocacy Lukas Enembe (TPHALE) submitted a letter of complaint from detainees at the KPK Detention Center. One of those who complained about the condition of the inactive regional head was John Irfan Kenway, a defendant in the AW-101 helicopter procurement corruption case.

"The following actions or actions have made us MP prisoners uncomfortable and are also very likely to pose a danger to our health, namely urinating in our pants in bed, urinating in our pants in a chair in the room together, trying to the floor or where he is," the letter said Friday, August 4.

The detainees also said that Lukas had never cleaned himself up after defecating and sleeping on a mattress that had never been cleaned or smelled of pesing. As a result of this condition, mutual cooperation prisoners helped such as bathing and serving food.

However, they cannot do this effort continuously. The reason is that the prisoners in the detention center have their own business.

Furthermore, they hope that Lukas will receive treatment from a doctor or medical team. Even if necessary, he will be taken to the hospital.

"Allow us to be busy with our own problems, which we feel are already very heavy and are no longer disturbed by feelings of guilt because we feel that we are letting Mr. Lukas Enembe with all his limitations," he said.

"Let us live healthy in the MP detention room," he said.
