KEDIRI - A young man was found lying in an irrigation canal in Paron Village rice fields, Ngasem District, Kediri Regency, East Java, Sunday morning. The young man was found covered in face blood.

Had been evacuated to the hospital for medical treatment, a young man named Ahmad Adetya Pratia Nanda (25), a resident of Dandangan Village, Kota District, Kediri City, was finally declared dead.

The head of the Ngasem Police, Iptu Dyan Purwandi, said that the young man was the victim of the pursuit of an unknown person (OTK) who brought a sickle.

"At the TKP (the crime scene), the victim's motorbike was preceded and three unknown people were grabbed riding a Suzuki Satria motorbike by brandishing a sickle," said Dyan, Monday, August 7.

Dyan explained that the chronology of the incident began when the victim, along with his three colleagues, were drinking alcohol at a cafe around the Simpang Lima Gumul Kediri area, around 23.00 WIB.

After finishing drinking, the victim and his partner took one of their friends home to his house in Gampengrejo District, around 02.00 WIB, on Sunday morning.

After escorting his colleague, said Dyan, the victim and his friends rode three and were chased by the OTK. The victim, who was sitting at the very back, fell, when he was grabbed until the motorbike hit a tree.

"Two of his colleagues continued their motorbikes to the east and left the victim because they were afraid of being chased by three OTKs driving a Suzuki Satria," he explained.

Then, a witness, a farmer named Suwito, found the victim lying lying on her back in a rice field irrigation canal, Sunday at around 06.00 WIB. When found, the victim was unconscious and had a wound on the mouth.

Suwito also reported the findings to local village officials and police. "After the victim received treatment at Aura Syifa Hospital then at around 13.00 WIB the victim was declared dead. The victim was then taken to Bhayangkara Hospital for an autopsy," he concluded.

A number of evidences were also secured by the police, such as cellphones, identity cards, wallets, watches, money, and a motorbike.
