Four Ancol Security Guards Persecuted 43-Year-Old Man To Death, Management Apologizes

Public Relations of Ancol Dreamland Park, Ariyadi Eko Nugroho, spoke about four Ancol security guards who were arrested by the police on suspicion of mistreatment of a man named Hasanuddin (43) to death. Ariyadi said that his party apologized for the actions of the perpetrators.

"We also deeply regret this incident, and apologize profusely to the families of the victims," said Eko via text message received by VOI, Tuesday, August 1.

Ancol's side handed over this case to the police so that in the future a similar incident will not happen again.

"We do not justify the actions taken by security personnel who are the power of the transfer. We (also) leave all legal processes to the authorities and have taken the necessary steps, so that the incident does not happen again," he continued.

Previously, 4 security guards at Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, North Jakarta were arrested on suspicion of molesting a man to death. The victim named Hasanuddin (43) was accused of stealing cellphones by the perpetrators.

Pademangan Police Chief Kompol Binsar Hatorangan Sianturi said the 4 perpetrators had the initials P (35), H (33), K (43), and S (31). The incident occurred on Saturday, July 29.

The incident began when the victim was suspected by security Ancol as a cellphone thief. Then, Hasanuddin was taken to the security post.

"Then there was an interrogation, while there was an act of violence from security personnel so that the victim died," Binsar said when confirmed, Monday, July 31.

After the incident, the 4 perpetrators, namely P (35), H (33), K (43), and S (31), were arrested on the same day. They have been taken to the Pademangan Police, for further action.

"And we have secured 4 perpetrators from security personnel. Meanwhile, sir. Later we will release them," he concluded.
