DKI Bina Marga Will Cut Cables If The Company Is Not Tidying The Victim's Food Optical Cable In Jaksele

JAKARTA - Head of the Infrastructure and Utility Facilities Division of the DKI Jakarta Highways Office, Syamsul Bakhri, asked PT Bali Tower to tidy up the entire fiber optic cable network that is still sweeping, especially on Jalan Pangeran Antasari, South Jakarta.

At that location, PT Bali Tower's fiber optic cable ensnared a student named Sultan Rif'at Alfatih in January so he could not speak until now.

"We still urge them to keep tidy up, tidy up the current ones, and also in other locations to avoid similar incidents," said Syamsul when contacted, Monday, July 31.

In fact, the DKI Provincial Government is running an integrated utility network (SJUT) system that moves aerial cables to be placed underground. However, the SJUT system has not yet been built at the scene of the incident that injured the Sultan.

Because Jalan Pangeran Antasari has not been touched by SJUT, Syamsul asked PT Bali Tower to arrange the cable first until the ducting was built. If the arrangement is still not carried out, the DKI Provincial Government will not hesitate to cut off the chains.

"As long as the shock, for example, has not yet been built, on several roads we urge them to tidy up, tidy up the many utilities that have not been arranged in the field," explained Syamsul.

"If it cannot be tidied up and arrangement cannot be carried out, we are in accordance with existing regulations, first we are a written warning warning. If we don't make arrangements, we will cut the cable that carries it," he continued.

As previously reported, a Brawijaya University student named Sultan Rif'at Alfatih (20) experienced a bitter incident. The reason is, he could not speak for almost seven months due to his neck being entangled in an optical fiber cable.

Sultan's father, Fatih, said the incident occurred on Jalan Pangeran Antasari, South Jakarta on January 5, 2023, at 22.00 WIB.

The incident started when the child was spending semester holidays with his high school friends around the capital. They went by two-wheeled driving towards Jalan TB Simatupang and then turned left on Jalan Pangeran Antasari.

After walking along Jalan Pangeran Antasari for one kilometer, suddenly there was an SUV that stopped in front of the victim's motorbike. Because there is an optical fiber cable that crosses the road.

The SUV driver who moved slowly to pass the cable that was stretched was thought to have miscalculated. He allegedly did not realize the cable was stuck on the roof of the car.

"Because the fiber optic cable is made of steel fiber, the cable doesn't break when you are interested in a few meters. The cable turns to the back and stabs my child's neck. Immediately, my child immediately fell due to cable traps," Fatih told reporters, Saturday, July 29.

The victim, who was unconscious, was immediately taken by his friends and a number of road users to the Fatmawati Central General Hospital (RSUP), to get first aid.

"(The doctor) sentenced my son that his throat or young bones in his throat broke and fell apart from what was called the offline or like the jakun was released," explained Fatih.

"Even couldn't speak for almost seven months as a result of the incident," he concluded.
