17-Year-Old Boy In Banjarmasin Arrested By Police For Distributing 5 Packages Of Methamphetamine

BANJARMASIN - Officer of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Banjarmasin Police, South Kalimantan, arrested a boy with the initials MG (17) for intending to transact methamphetamine-type drugs. "We found evidence of five packages of methamphetamine ready for distribution where the net weight is 22.46 grams," said West Banjarmasin Police Chief Kompol Indra Agung Putra Perdana quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 28. He said the perpetrator who was still a minor was a resident of Central Banjarmasin. Indra explained that officers arrested MG when he was about to transact drugs on Teluk Tiram Darat Street, Telawang Village, West Banjarmasin District, precisely on Nizam Mobile, on Saturday last week. Indra revealed the chronology of arrests began when members of the West Banjarmasin Police received information that at the scene of the case (TKP) there were frequent transactions of methamphetamine-type narcotics. Then, an investigation of the information was carried out. When the perpetrators were at the crime scene, they were immediately searched and found evidence of five packages of methamphetamine ready for distribution. The five packages of methamphetamine ready for distribution were stored by the perpetrators at the ceiling of the mobile phone shop where MG was arrested. Furthermore, the perpetrators and along with other methamphetamine and evidence were secured to the West Banjarmasin Police for further investigation and legal proceedings. "From the results of the interim investigation and on the actions of MG, investigators charged him with Article 112 Paragraph (2) RI Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics," said Kapolsek accompanied by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Firuza when releasing the case.

The West Banjarmasin Police Chief appealed to parents to always supervise their children who are teenagers in socializing outside their homes so as not to get involved in the wrong interactions. "We remind the public not to dare to come into contact with drugs, let alone to distribute them, if proven, they will be prosecuted according to applicable regulations," he said.
