West Java KPU Finds 22 DPRD Candidates Registered Doubles

The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Java Province revealed the findings of 22 candidates for legislative members for the West Java Provincial DPRD in the 2024 General Election are double registered. West Java KPU Election Technical Division Coordinator Endun Abdul Haq said the multiplicity of legislative candidates was divided evenly between internal doubles and external doubles. "So, it is still found that there will be 12 candidates who will double internally, then there will be 10 candidates who will double externally. Now, this must be followed up by political parties," Endun said when contacted by ANTARA in Bandung, Thursday, July 27. Endun explained that the 12 candidates for the internal doubles are candidates who will be promoted by one party, but with more than one electoral district. Meanwhile, the 10 candidates for the external doubles are candidates who will be nominated by more than one party. "Now this must be followed up by political parties by analyzing and making a statement regarding the candidate concerned," said Endun. "So far, there are those who have uploaded it in Silon and are waiting until July 29, 2023, for us to clarify again until August 6, 2023. To be designed as a list of candidates (DCS) and the start of the funeral period by political parties on the DCS draft," he said. Currently, the 2024 General Election stage is entering the administrative verification of the improvement of the required documents for prospective legislative candidates on July 10, 2023 to August 6, 2023. On August 6 to 11, 2023, the political party will enter the DCS funeral stage. After the DCS funeral, the process was continued with the preparation and determination of the DCS on August 12-18, then the DCS announcement on August 19-23, followed by an input and response from the public on DCS on August 19-28 2023.

After that, it will enter the stage of submitting a replacement for candidates for members of the DPR, Provincial DPRD, Regency/City DPRD by political parties on September 14-20, 2023.
