LSN Survey: 47.5 Percent Of Jokowi Volunteers Choose Prabowo

JAKARTA - The survey results of the National Survey Institute (LSN) show that 47.5 percent of respondents claim to be voters or volunteers of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) have made a choice for Prabowo Subianto.

"Currently 47.5 percent of respondents who claim to be voters or Jokowi volunteers have made a choice on Prabowo," said Executive Director of LSN Gema Nusantara Bakry as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 26.

Meanwhile, 35.8 percent of respondents claimed to be voters or volunteers from President Jokowi, he said, made a choice for Ganjar Pranowo.

Meanwhile, he continued, as many as 8.9 percent of respondents admitted that President Jokowi's voters or volunteers made a choice for Anies Baswedan.

He said the percentage of the mass base and Jokowi volunteers who moved to support Prabowo Subianto continued to increase based on the results of the previous NGO survey.

"Meanwhile, those who remain loyal or survive support Ganjar Pranowo tend to experience a decline," he said.

The LSN survey in June noted that 45.6 percent of respondents who claimed to be voters or volunteers from President Jokowi made a choice for Prabowo Subianto, followed by another 40.3 percent choosing Ganjar Pranowo, and the remaining 8.5 percent choosing Anies Baswedan.

The results of the LSN survey this time also showed that more than 38.8 percent of PDI-P constituents migrated to Prabowo Subianto, then 45.3 percent of other PDI-P constituents remained in Ganjar Pranowo's camp, and 9.1 percent of the PDI-P constituents chose Anies Baswedan.

"Indeed, the percentage of constituents or PDIP voters who support Ganjar is still greater than those who migrate to Prabowo. However, based on the findings of the LSN survey, in the past year the percentage of PDIP constituents who chose Ganjar continued to decline," he said.

According to him, many PDIP constituents transferred their support to Prabowo due to the "Jokowi Effect" factor, and many of them felt more comfortable under Prabowo's banner.

"Open statements to support Prabowo from a number of PDIP elites recently indicated that many of them were already uncomfortable in the political carriages commanded by Megawati Soekarnoputri," he said.

The findings of the LSN survey were carried out on 1,420 respondents with random-grade sampling techniques. Respondents who were sampled were at least 17 years old or already had ID cards.

The survey, which was conducted in 34 provinces in Indonesia, used a face-to-face interview technique with tolerance or a margin of error of around 2.6 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.
