President Jokowi Attends The Peak Of The 25th Harlah Celebration Of The National Awakening Party In Solo

SOLO-President Joko Widodo was present at the peak of the celebration of the 25th Birthday (Harlah) of the National Awakening Party (PKB) at the Solo Manahan Stadium, Central Java, on Sunday, July 23 evening.

The arrival of President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana Jokowi was welcomed by PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar. At 15.30 WIB, President Jokowi arrived at the event, and was also accompanied by the Minister of Defense and General Chair of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto.

In addition, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and General Chair of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto and the Minister of Trade as well as Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan were also present at the celebration.

Other parties also sent envoys, such as DPP Chair Puan Maharani from the PDI-P who is also the chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, accompanied by Ahmad Basarah. The United Development Party (PPP) sent its Secretary General, Arwani Thomafi.

Several elite political figures were also present, including Secretary General of the Golkar Party Lodewijk F. Paulus, Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani, and Secretary General of PAN Eddy Soeparno. The Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, was also present at the celebration.

Previously, the chairman of the PKB faction of the DPR RI, Cucun A Syamsurijal, stated that Harlah's momentum was very important for PKB as a major consolidation event for all party administrators and cadres. Therefore, President Jokowi was specifically invited to attend the 25th PKB Peak Harlah in Solo.

"We have specifically invited President Jokowi to attend the 25th PKB Harlah Peak in Solo," he said.

In the celebration, PKB also invited a number of national political figures and leaders of other political parties. PKB hopes that these figures will be present to jointly carry out istighosah (joint prayers) and convey to the public that even though they are approaching the 2024 political contestation, the parties will remain solid in maintaining friendship.

"We hope that all of these figures are present to jointly carry out istighosah and convey to the public that even before the 2024 political contestation, they will remain solid in maintaining friendship," he said.

This event is expected to be attended by around 50 thousand PKB cadres and sympathizers from all over Indonesia. Several prominent kiai from Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) also participated in the activity
