Nadiem Removed Professor, Former Leader Of UNS MWA Denies Authority Abuse

SOLO - Former leader of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Hasan Fauzi Surakarta responded to the removal of his title as a professor by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

The former deputy chairman of the Surakarta MWA evaded that the removal was carried out due to abuse of authority when he was still the leader of the MWA.

"There is no abuse of authority," he was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Thursday, July 13.

He suspects that the alleged abuse of authority in question was because MWA at that time sent a letter to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology regarding the results of the UNS rector election.

"It is considered to affect the minister," he said.

In fact, according to him, MWA only sent a letter to the minister to report the results of the rector election.

"Regarding the election results (rector election) and conveying what happened at UNS and proposing a solution to the minister based on these conditions. Is such abuse of authority," he said.

Related to this, his party has submitted an objection to the ministry.

"And immediately the Administrative Court (State Administrative Court)," he said.

Previously, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Menristekdikbud) Nadiem Anwar Makarim removed the title of professor of the former leader of MWA UNS.

UNS Muhtar Deputy Chancellor II for General and Human Resources (HR) said sanctions were imposed on former Deputy Chairman of MWA Hasan Fauzi and former Secretary of MWA UNS Tri Atmojo Kusmayadi.

One of the contents of the decision is to impose a disciplinary sentence of release from his position to an executive position for 12 months.

This is in accordance with the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Education and Technology Number 29985/RHS/M/08/2023 and Number 29986/RHS/M/08 of 2023 dated 26 June 2023. The letter contains the Implementation of Disciplinary Law on Release from Teacher Position to Implementing Position with a disciplinary sentence valid for 12 months.
