JAKARTA - Attorney General's Office investigators rescheduled the summons of Maqdir Ismail, lawyer Irwan Hermawan, defendant in the 4G Kominfo BTSK corruption case after receiving a letter of application for postponement.

"(The postponement letter) was (received) at 13.00 WIB earlier. (The examination) was postponed Thursday (13/7)," said the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 10.

Sumedana explained that Maqdir Ismail submitted a request for postponement of the examination from Monday (10/7) to Thursday (13/7), the application letter was received at noon, accompanied by reasons that it could not fulfill the investigator's summons on the day of the initial summons.

"Because it's still handling other cases," he said.

Previously, the Attorney General's Office investigators summoned Maqdir Ismail as a witness in the investigation into the alleged corruption case in the provision of Base Tranceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure and supporting infrastructure for Kominfo for the 2020-2022 period.

Investigators asked Maqdir Ismail for clarification regarding his statement regarding the refund of Rp27 billion in US dollars from the private sector.

Sumedana said Maqdir's statement caused a polemic so that investigators summoned Maqdir to clarify his statement and bring the intended money. "Our hope is that he will bring it with his own money, all of them. So that it doesn't bother us all," he said. The AGO emphasized that in the investigation of the corruption case of the 4G BTS Kominfo project, investigators firmly resolved the case clearly, transparently and objectively. It was recorded that more than 500 witnesses had been examined regarding the case that cost the state finances Rp8.32 trillion.

"Everything circulating in our society is clarified, so we don't say it's sluggish, nothing is sluggish, there are already people in the trial," he said.

"Six people have already had their trial, the investigation is still ongoing, the summons is still ongoing, of course we accommodate what is circulating in the community for the material. We clearly subsume this case to be transparent and objective as expected," said Sumedana. In total there are eight suspects in cases that cost state finances amounting to Rp8.32 trillion. Six of the eight suspects have the status of defendants who are currently in the process of being proven at the trial of the Central Jakarta Corruption Court.

The five defendants, namely Anang Achmad Latif (AAL) as President Director of BAKTI of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Gahole Menak (GMS) as President Director of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia, Yohan Suryanto (YS) as an expert on Human Development (HUDEV) at the University of Indonesia in 2020, Mukti Ali (MA) a suspect from PT Huwaei Technology Investment and Irwan Hermawan (IH) as Commissioner of PT Solitchmedia Synergy on 22 May 2023 and Johnny G Plate, former Coordinating Minister for Information.

Two other suspects who are still in the process of completing the case files, namely Windi Purnama, as confidants of the suspects Irwan Hermawan (IH) and Muhammad Yusrizki, Director of PT Basar Utama Prima (BUP) who also serves as Chairman of the Renewable Energy Standing Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

Separately, the lawyer for the Commissioner of PT Solitechmedia Synergy Irwan Hermawan, Maqdir Ismail, said that his party had written asking for a postponement of the examination day to Thursday (13/7), because today accompanying his client to trial at the South Jakarta Court.

He said he would bring Rp27 billion, which was returned by the private sector in the alleged corruption case of BTS Kominfo, to the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

Maqdir said he would bring the money in cash when it fulfilled the AGO's summons on Thursday (13/7).
