JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar thanked all parties involved and helped reduce stunting in Central Java. This was conveyed after receiving an honorary award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Satyalencana Wira Karya.

The award was given by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin at the peak of the 30th National Price Commemoration in Banyuasin, South Sumatra, Thursday, July 6.

"I express my gratitude, because the work of good, compact, structured, and systematic friends, so that we can reduce the stunting rate properly," said Ganjar.

The awarding is a form of government appreciation for Ganjar's commitment to the population and family planning program, especially the handling of stunting.

Apart from Ganjar, his wife Atikoh as the Chair of the Central Java PKK TP also received an award from the Indonesian BKKBN, for her role in the implementation of the Proud Kencana program and reducing stunting.

Furthermore, Ganjar explained that there are many programs that are carried out to deal with stunting in Central Java. Among them are the Central Java Gayeng Nginceng Wong Meteng (5NG) program.

"It's a program of attention to pregnant women, checking from the start of pregnancy, providing nutritional intake, continuous control until childbirth. After birth, children are given exclusive breastfeeding, including their nutrition to continue to be considered," he explained.

In addition, Ganjar said that the government cannot handle stunting alone. Therefore, Ganjar thanked all those who had helped.

"I thank you because the private sector is involved, SOEs, BUMDs are involved, so everyone is involved. This is a pretty good mutual cooperation and we continue to boost, so that the decline target is achieved. I don't think it will be difficult," he concluded.

Apart from Ganjar, a number of other regional heads also received awards at the event. For Central Java Province, a number of regents/mayors also received awards.
