Megawati Inaugurates BRIN's Wildlife Education Forum In Cibinong

JAKARTA - Indonesia's 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri inaugurated educational rides as well as wildlife research belonging to the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) located in the Soekarno Science and Technology Area, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java.

"Before there was BRIN, there was research in Indonesia where it was separated and not one. After that, Pak Jokowi created BRIN which united all activities from research and innovation in Indonesia," said Megawati, who is also the Chair of the BRIN Steering Committee at the inauguration site on Wednesday, July 5, was confiscated by Antara.

The facility called Animalium is a forum for the application of learning about animal life which aims to build ecological intelligence to the next generation of the nation

Animalium is designed as the largest animal science tourism area in Indonesia which is not only a modern prop, but also a means of publication of animal knowledge research and storefronts with new concepts.

Head of BRIN Laksana Tri Handoko said the facility was used as a research site for wild animals as well as a museum for animals.

"Animalium is a research center for live animal observation and seeing the behavior of living animals," said Handoko.

The facility is used to research wild animals facilitated by BRIN. In it, there is a live animal and animal museum.

Animalium displays wild animals that are researched and cared for by BRIN researchers. Visitors can see hundreds of collections of wildlife from aves (birds), pisces (fish), herpetofauna (reptile), invertebrates (serangga) to mammals.

Animalium was built on an area of 1.5 hectares and was only opened to visitors in March 2023.

Animalium is open every day, except Monday, 09.00 to 17.00 WIB. The entrance ticket price starts from IDR 75 thousand to IDR 100 thousand.
