4,500 Personnel Alerted To Secure President Jokowi's Visit To Papua

A total of 4,500 personnel were alerted to secure President Joko Widodo's visit to two areas in Papua province.

The commander of Korem 172/PWY, Brigadier General Dedi Hardono, said the thousands of personnel were deployed to secure presidential visits starting from Sentani Airport in Jayapura Regency to working visits to Jayapura and Keerom Regency.

While in Papua, the president will harvest corn in Arso, Keerom Regency, which borders Papua New Guinea, then sees the Papua Street Carnival centered in the courtyard of the Jayapura Dok II Governor's Office.

"Activities in two cities in Papua are scheduled for July 6-7," said Hartono after the deployment of troops centered on the Waena Denzipur field, Jayapura, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 4.

Meanwhile, Commander of Korem 174/Atw, Brigadier General TNI Agus Widodo, separately admitted that the president would make a working visit to Asmat, South Papua. "The president is scheduled to inaugurate Dormon Ewer Airport, Thursday (6/7), then to Jayapura," said Widodo.

Previously, in March Jokowi also visited Papua and inaugurated the Papua Youth Creativity Simpul, and planted corn in Arso, Keerom Regency.
