After 22 Sacrificial Animals, Thousands Of Prisoners Are Confirmed To Eat Meat For The Next 3 Days

JAKARTA - The Class 1 Salemba State Detention Center in Central Jakarta slaughtered 14 cows and 8 goats on Eid al-Adha 10 Dzulhijjah 1444H at the Salemba Rutan sports field, Thursday, June 29, afternoon. The total number of sacrificial animals slaughtered in Salemba Rutan is 22 sacrificial animals.

The process of slaughtering sacrificial animals is carried out by professional robbers assisted by 25 correctional inmates (WBP) or prisoners.

From VOI's observation, one by one the cattle were carried out by a slaughter process near an iron pole in the sports field. Meanwhile, several other inmates were enthusiastic about making a ground dug hole to bury the dirt of sacrificial animals that had been slaughtered.

At exactly around 11.00 WIB, the Salemba Rutan has completed the process of slaughtering 4 cows. Meanwhile, the sacrificial cattle and other goats continue to wait for the turn of the slaughter process for the next 3 days.

Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Asasi (Kakanwil Kemenkumham) DKI Jakarta, Ibnu Chuldun explained, after the implementation of the Eid al-Adha prayer, it was continued with the slaughter of sacrificial animals.

"The total number of sacrificial animals received in prisons and detention centers in Jakarta, the total number is 58 cows and 95 goats. These sacrificial animals come from foundations. Two types of cattle include the Minister of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights for WBP in Salemba and Cipinang. Then from regional offices, prisons and even from the inmates themselves," Ibnu told reporters, Thursday, June 29.

The handover of sacrificial animals from WBP, continued Ibnu, was because the inmates were touched by all the guidance given to them.

"This is done, maybe he feels that the guidance given in prisons can touch him so that with sincerity he sacrifices animals. We pray that this worship activity, the implementation of slaughtering sacrificial animals and distribution will be good and smooth as we hope," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Salemba Class 1 Detention Center in Central Jakarta, Fauzi Harahap, said that the process of distributing sacrificial meat would later be given to the inmates of the Salemba Detention Center, orphans and the community around the Salemba Detention Center.

"Our inmates with a total of 3209 for three days will eat the meat of the sacrificial animal. We will cook sugar, SOP, rendang and kare. The inmates will eat meat in the morning and evening for the next 3 days," he said.
