Due To Cigarette Profits, Retail Gasoline In Jatinegara Caught Fire, Two People Were Injured

JAKARTA Two people were injured during a fire at a motorcycle repair shop and a wooden storage warehouse on Jalan Raya Bekasi Timur Km 17 RT 03/RW 11 Jatinegara Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, Thursday afternoon, June 22. "Two people suffered burns of about 20 percent on the hands and face. The victim was immediately taken to the Jatinegara Village Health Center for first aid," said Head of the Operational Section of the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Gulkarmat) East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Gatot Sulaeman, Thursday, June 22. Residents reported the fire incident at around 14:19 WIB. According to information, the fire occurred after one of the motorbikes filled with retail gasoline in front of the workshop. Then there was a gasoline spill. The gasoline spill caused the fire from one of the workshop's cigarettes. The fire quickly spread to a number of corners of the workshop until it finally spread to the wooden storage building. "The source of the motor that was filling retail gas at the workshop, there was a gas spill. When the motor was transferred suddenly there was an ignition from the cigarette of one of the mechanics. Then it spread to all parts of the workshop including piles of wood in the next building," he explained.

Gulkarmat East Jakarta officers deployed 15 fire units with 75 personnel to extinguish the fire. In addition to piles of wood and motorcycle workshops, the red rooster also scorched five motorbikes at the location of the fire. According to him, there were no casualties in the incident, it's just that the loss is estimated at Rp160 million.
