Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ismail, said that his party would propose the formation of a special committee (special committee) to investigate stalled projects in the Ancol tourist area to the Chairman of the DKI DPRD.
The proposal to form this special committee was agreed upon in a meeting of Commission B of the DKI DPRD which summoned the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government and the directors of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol yesterday.
While the proposed process for the formation of the special committee was carried out, the DPRD also demanded Ancol complete the documents needed to follow up on the problems of four stalled projects which were previously explained in general by the President Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Winarto.
"We will schedule an in-depth follow-up meeting, but we will review it to demand that the documents that have not been explained in detail by Commission B's questions," Ismail told reporters, Thursday, June 22.
"After the meeting, at the same time we will discuss with the leadership of the DPRD regarding the opportunity to form a special committee," he added.
In Government Regulation Number 12 of 2018, the special committee was formed in a plenary meeting at the suggestion of DPRD members. Most of the special committee members were formed on 25 people, consisting of members of the related commission proposed by each faction.
Ismail explained that the realization of the formation of special committee members will depend on the decision of the leadership of the DKI DPRD.
"As the applicable rules are active, the details will include the points that we will consult with the leadership of the DPRD," explained Ismail.
Based on a report from the Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Winarto in yesterday's meeting, there were four problems with stalled projects, ranging from cooperation in apartment construction with Crown, hotels with Marriot Group, development of Sea World with PT Sea World Indonesia, and construction of BTO Music Stadium at ABC Mall with PT Paramitha Bangun Cipta Sarana.
Responding to this, a number of members of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD proposed the formation of a special committee to dismantle the problem of stalled projects in Ancol to recommendations for resolving the problem.
"I think we have to focus here, if necessary we make a special committee. I propose from Commission B to make an Ancol special committee because it turns out that the problems or problems in Ancol are very large," said Member of Commission B Pandapotan Sinaga at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Wednesday, June 21.
Pandapotan admitted that he was surprised by the stalled projects that have only been revealed. Because, so far, Ancol as the company whose majority shares are owned by the DKI Provincial Government has never reported development problems in its tourist areas.
"I am very surprised to hear this information. So far, I have never known about these problems. I don't think there are any problems in Ancol regarding developments," said Pandapotan.
Similarly, Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Suhud Aliyudin, also proposed the establishment of the Special Committee for the Ancol stalled project. On the other hand, Suhud also suggested a special audit of the stalled project by the DKI Regional Owned Enterprise Development Agency (BP BUMD).
"Frankly, we are certainly disappointed with the existing situation. I agree that there is a need for the DPRD special committee to explore the problems that arise. Second, I think BP BUMD needs to conduct a kind of audit to see the lost opportunity of the stalled number of projects," said Suhud.
