Shocked By Electricity When Fixing Lights, Muarojambi Residents Fall Into The Batanghari River Lost

JAKARTA - The Jambi Basarnas team conducted a search for Hermanto (40), the owner of a missing fish cage in the Batanghari River.

Hermanto was electrocuted when he turned on the lights on the edge of the cage and then fell and was declared missing on the evening of Sunday, June 18.

"Currently, our SAR team is searching for a victim named Hermanto who drowned in the Batanghari River due to being electrocuted by the lights in his cage," said Head of Basarnas Jambi Kornelis, Monday, June 19, as quoted by Antara.

The incident of Hermanto's disappearance in his cage, which is located in Pematang Jering Village, Muarojambi Regency, was based on residents' reports.

The incident occurred on Sunday, June 18 at around 20.30 WIB. The victim was repairing his fish cage lights, then electrocuted and fell into the Batanghari River.

"After receiving this information, I deployed the Jambi Basarnas Office Team to conduct searches by bringing equipment such as rubber boats, water Rlrescue equipment, aqua eyes, rescue trucks, and evacuation equipment," said Kornelis.

Until now, the Joint SAR Team is conducting a search using a sweeping method towards the downstream of the Batanghari River.
