Rijali said that his party received information on forest and land fires around Syamsudin Noor International Airport from the Rapid Response Team (TRC) formed by the South Kalimantan BPBD.

The area has been designated by the South Kalimantan BPBD as ring one because it is an area prone to forest and land fires and is a priority for preventing smog disasters caused by fires. Karhutla is located in two locations which are not too far away.

The South Kalimantan BPBD Task Force team together with dozens of joint personnel arrived at the forest and land fires location at 15.35 WITA then the team finished extinguishing the fire at around 20.00 WITA.

Rijali said the team stopped serving on Sunday night because the location of the forest and land fires was in the form of swamps and shrubs so that officers could not reach by land as a result of the terrain being quite difficult to pass.
The BPBD Task Force team ensured that the fire did not spread to residential areas before leaving the location.
