A Grant Supervisory Ship From The Japanese Government Arrives In Indonesia

JAKARTA - A grant supervisory ship from the Japanese government to Indonesia named Orca 5 has arrived in the country, precisely in Batu Ampar, Batam, Riau Islands after nine days of sailing.

"The ship reached Indonesian waters after previously undergoing a release procession from the Shipyard, Japan and a nine-day cruise under the vigilance of the potential for the Thypoon storm on its shipping route," said Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) Adin Nurawaluddin in a statement reported by ANTARA, Thursday, June 15.

The Orca 05 Supervisory Ship (KP) departed for Indonesia on June 6, 2023 and arrived in Indonesia on June 15, 2023, carrying 26 crew members, 24 crew members of the supervisory ship and two companions from the Directorate General of PSDKP.

The grant ship, which is a used patrol boat from the Japanese Fisheries Agency, has a length of 63.37 meters, has the advantage of being able to operate in the sea for up to 25 days.

Adin said that as many as 26 crew members had previously undergone the introduction of ship components as well as the procedures for ship operation on 8-25 May 2023 in Hiroshima, Japan.

After arriving in Batam, the ship will continue its journey to Jakarta to be received directly by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia which are expected to arrive in Muara Baru, Jakarta on June 17, 2023.

Previously, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, announced that the KKP would receive as many as 2 (two) grant Supervisory Ships from the Japanese Government, namely Hakurei Maru, which were later named KP Orca 05 and Shirahagi Maru, which would later be called KP Orca 06.
