NAGAN RAYA - Police examined the former Regent of Nagan Raya HM Jamin Idham for nine hours as a witness in the corruption case of cutting village funds.

"His statement is very much needed by investigators to uncover the alleged corruption case which is currently being handled," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Nagan Raya Police, Aceh, AKP Mahfud, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 13.

The examination of the former Nagan Raya Regent was related to the alleged deduction of village funds from a number of village heads in Darul Makmur District, the local district of Rp. 7 million which was carried out in 2020.

AKP Machfud explained that HM Jamin Idham was examined by investigators as a witness in the case being handled.

"In the examination carried out, HM Jamin Idham was asked 40 questions and the investigation was only completed until 19.00 WIB at night," said AKP Machfud.

The investigation was carried out by the police after his party received a report from the public regarding the excerpt of money amounting to Rp. 7 million from dozens of village heads (keuchik) in Darul Makmur District, Nagan Raya Regency, which was coordinated by a sub-district head.

"The money is allegedly collected from village heads sourced from village funds," said AKP Machfud.

After undergoing the examination, HM Jamin Idham told reporters that he was asked questions about 30 to 40 questions.

"Just a question, I'm a witness," he said.

Previously, when he arrived at the Satreskrim building of the Nagan Raya Police, Aceh, HM Jamim Idham told reporters that he had visited the local police in order to provide information regarding the case.
