The East Aceh District Attorney's team of investigators searched the East Aceh Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) office regarding the investigation into alleged corruption in road construction with a total budget of Rp. 13 billion.

"The team searched to collect evidence related to the alleged criminal act of road construction managed by the East Aceh PUPR Service," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the East Aceh District Attorney (Kejari) Agust Kanin as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 12.

There are two road construction projects that are being investigated, namely the improvement of the Beusa Sebrang road structure, West Peureulak District, East Aceh with a budget ceiling of IDR 11.4 billion.

Then, the alleged corruption in paving the Rantau Panjang-Alue Tuwi road, Rantau District, Selamat, East Aceh Regency, with a budget ceiling of Rp1.7 billion.

The two projects come from the Aceh Special Autonomy Fund or DOKA for the 2021 fiscal year. From the results of the initial investigation, there was work that did not match specifications, said Agust Kanin.

"There are several documents related to the two road projects brought by the investigative team. The document is the initial evidence of the case being investigated," he said.

In addition to searching the office, the investigating team of the East Aceh District Attorney has also examined and asked for information from a number of parties related to the two road construction work.

The parties who have been questioned are the Technical Implementation Officer (PPTK), Budget User Authority, implementing contractor or partner, supervisory consultant, and others.

"Meanwhile, state financial losses are still in the calculation stage by experts. The handling of cases of alleged corruption has been increased to the investigation stage," said Augus Kanin.
