Favorite Level 3 Will Be SMRC Survey Version Presidential Candidate: Ganjar 82 Percent, Prabowo 80 Percent, Anies 68 Percent

JAKARTA - The survey institute Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) released a poll on the level of preference (likeability) for three presidential candidates among critical voters.

The three of them will be presidential candidates from PDIP Ganjar Pranowo, will be presidential candidates from the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto, and will be presidential candidates from NasDem-PKS-Democrat Anies Baswedan. As a result, Ganjar's name was most liked by respondents.

The critical voters themselves are voters who have better access to social-political information sources because they have a phone or cell phone, which allows them to access the internet and get the latest news in the socio-political realm.

Critical voters generally come from the lower middle to upper class, have higher levels of education, and tend to live in urban areas. They also have the potential to influence the opinion of the lower voter group. It is estimated that the number of critical voters throughout Indonesia reaches 80 percent.

"Among critical voters, Ganjar Pranowo's likeability rate is 82 percent, Prabowo Subianto 80 percent, and Anies Baswedan 68 percent," said SMRC research director Deni Irvani on SMRC TV's YouTube show, Monday, June 5.

Ganjar's name, which is in first place, is seen from the level of popularity in terms of quality. Meanwhile, in popularity based on quantity, Prabowo Subianto was ranked the highest, followed by Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo.

In addition, this survey also reveals that most critical voters have known the three figures. As many as 97 percent of critical voters already know Prabowo, 91 percent know Anies, and 89 percent know Ganjar.

In the last six months, there has been a significant decline in Anies Baswedan's likeability level. In the December 2022 survey, Anies' likeability rate reached 73 percent, but in the May 2023 survey, this figure fell to 68 percent.

"The level of likeability between Ganjar and Prabowo is relatively stable in the same period. The two figures also received a more positive response than Anies," he said.

This survey was conducted by telephone on May 30-31, 2023. This survey involved 909 randomly selected respondents through the random digit dialing (RDD) method. The survey margin of error is estimated at around 05.3 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
