YOGYAKARTA Not long ago, social media was shocked by the parking of two foreign aircraft at Kertajati International Airport (BIJB), Majalengka, which is estimated to have been around for more than a year. This information was shared by the Twitter account @BabakTaghvaee1. The account reveals that both of them are used aircraft from the French Air Force with the Airbus type A340-212. In this regard, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has opened its voice. Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation Adita Irawati confirmed that there were two foreign aircraft parked for a long time in Kertajati. The two aircraft are French civilian aircraft type A340-200 with registration code F-HFDD and F-HLMG.

Adita also revealed the reason why the two planes were parked for more than a year.

Adita said the two foreign aircraft parked at Kertajati Airport were waiting in line for maintenance from the PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) aircraft repair line.

"These two foreign aircraft park at Kertajati for waiting in line for maintenance from GMF. So it's not true that they parked because they waited for permission to fly for a year," he said, quoted from Indonesia Today, Monday, June 5, 2023.

He added that the two foreign aircraft that were deployed for more than a year at Kertajati were of the Airbus A340-200 type. This aircraft used to belong to the French Air Force, but it has been bought by another party.

The foreign plane was parked in Kertajati due to a limited GMF parking slot.

"The information from GMF is because the parking slots in their place are limited. This is a B to B (business to business) scheme between GMF and aircraft operators. Please confirm it there," said Adita.

Apart from that, now the two foreign aircraft have left Indonesian territory on May 23, 2023, to Amman, Jordania (registration of TZ-DTA and TZ-DTC).

The flight clearance was submitted by the operator after the two aircraft received treatment from GMF.

For additional information, the two planes were parked at Chateaurox Deouls (CHR) from March 3, 2021 to April 9, 2022, only then parked at Kertajati Airport dated April 10, 2022-23 May 2023. This means that the two planes are parked for more than a year, or to be precise 13 months over 13 days.
