The Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) of the Hang Nadim Batam Embarkation, Riau Islands, said that two prospective Hajj candidates were undergoing treatment at the Batam Entrepreneurship Agency Hospital (RSBP).

PPIH Embarkation Secretary Hang Nadim Batam Muhammad Syafii said the two Hajj candidates were members of batch 1 and 3.

"For the congregation of batch 1 who was referred to the hospital yesterday, it is not healthy and is still being treated, then in batch 3 there is one congregation whose departure has also been postponed due to illness and being treated as well," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 25.

In addition to the RSBP, the Embung Fatimah Regional General Hospital (RSUD) is also a referral hospital for prospective pilgrims who must receive further medical treatment.

He also appealed to JCH to ensure that he had registered or had BPJS Kesehatan so that it could be used if he had to be referred to the hospital.

Previously, one member of group 3 of the Hang Nadim Batam Embarkation on Thursday, was delayed from leaving for the Holy Land due to illness.

Deputy Chairman III of PPIH Embarkation Hang Nadim Batam Abu Sufyan said the Hajj candidate from Tanjungpinang City had been referred to the Batam Hospital.

"If in the near future the congregation is healthy and is fit to fly, they will join the next batch," he said.

Chairman of PPIH of the Batam Embarkation Mahbub Daryanto appealed to prospective hajj candidates to regularly drink water while in Saudi Arabia because the hot temperature in that place reached 40 degrees Celsius.

He conveyed the importance of using masks when doing activities outside the room to avoid coughing flu.
