33 TNI Soldiers Will Be Sent To Guard The Border On Enggano Island, Pangkogabwilhan I: Operations Starting June 1, 2023

BENGKULU - Commander of the Joint Regional Defense Command (Pangkogabwilhan) I Vice Admiral TNI Irvansyah revealed that as many as 33 soldiers would be sent to the outermost islands of Indonesia's borders.

Dozens of soldiers will be tasked with guarding Enggano Island, Bengkulu Province.

"Tomorrow morning I will also immediately visit Enggano Island because now there is an operation to secure the outermost island, which on June 1, 2023, will start its operation," said Pangkogabwilhan I in Bengkulu, Tuesday, May 23, which was confiscated by Antara. He said soldiers who would be sent to Enggano Island had undergone selection and various examinations. According to him, those who passed the selection were the best soldiers. "Enggano Island is Indonesia's border in the western region of Bengkulu Province," he added.

Soldiers have taken physical and mental health tests and also provided how they should later serve on Enggano Island. Supposedly, he said, as a soldier, they must be ready to serve anywhere in this country. "That a soldier must be ready to be placed anywhere, be it in the city or in the forest or on the outer islands. I think there should be no problem with that, and hopefully the challenges on Enggano Island will not be too heavy compared to other areas," he said. The government also said he had provided support for the placement of soldiers on the outer islands by ensuring the availability of facilities, facilities and infrastructure supporting facilities. "I think the facilities are good enough, water, electricity can be guaranteed, hopefully the task can also run smoothly," said Pangkogabwilhan I.
