Anticipating TIP, Cianjur Immigration Office Tightens The Making Of Pilgrimage Passports

CIANJUR - Class III Immigration Office Non TPI Cianjur Regency, West Java, has tightened the making of passports for pilgrimages or worship as an effort to misuse passports by unscrupulous perpetrators of the People's Sales Crime (TPPO) in dispatching Cianjur residents.

The Coordinator of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Class III Non-TPI Cianjur, Ikhwan, said that in anticipation of the illegal departure of migrant workers, his party further tightened the requirements that must be met by prospective passport owners.

"The stages that must be taken by the applicant start from submitting documents that must be included in a letter of recommendation from the organizer or departure agent, a survey and stage of direct interviews with the applicant," he said.

So far, said Ikwan, the process of submitting documents has been very strict so as not to be misused by applicants or unscrupulous labor distribution services abroad, so that when one of the conditions cannot be met, the passport application will be rejected.

Especially for the application for a pilgrimage passport, a survey will be conducted to the organizers or agents who will dispatch them, so that it is certain that the applicant will not misuse the passport and not become a victim of TIP.

"We will continue to suppress the misuse of passports under the pretext of pilgrimages as an effort to help the police and Cianjur residents to avoid TIP victims," he said.

His party asked residents who want to apply for a passport to work abroad to consult with the relevant agencies in the Cianjur Regency Government, before going to the Cianjur Immigration Office, to avoid fraud from unscrupulous labor distribution services.

"We will also further tighten the requirements that must be met directly by applicants who cannot be represented in order to avoid the misuse of pilgrimage passports," he said.
