Ministry Of Health Strengthens Case Tracking Of Sifilis Raja Sing To Health Facilities

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) stated that it has strengthened the tracking system for cases of syphilic diseases or better known as the king of lions disease, to the furthest health facilities in Indonesia.

"The Ministry of Health has opened access to the Sexually Infectious Service (IMS) to the periphery. The treatment of the IMS program has penetrated to the furthest puskesmas in Indonesia," said the Director of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases at the Ministry of Health, Imran Pambudi, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 11.

Responding to the Ministry of Health's efforts to overcome syphilicism, Imran explained that through access that was opened to the furthest health facilities, his party initiated a number of trainings for IMS for health workers.

In line with that, education and prevention with condoms are also encouraged through a campaign that is intensified by the Ministry of Health regarding syphilics is a great imitator.

Symptoms of infection can change to resemble other diseases, so increasing knowledge and prevention is very necessary to find out cases early.

From training to provide implementation according to procedures, IMS services provided include HIV screening, sifilis and hepatitis B or what is called the triple elimination program for pregnant women.

The program targets housewives and the discovery of active cases in male sex customers with IMS symptoms.

Imran explained that in other areas that experienced high syphilic transmission in key populations, one of which was a man who had sex with a man (LSL) had been notified by a couple in a syphilic case.

The Ministry of Health has also provided a syphilic diagnosis tool along with medicines needed by related patients in existing health facilities. In this case, in the form of a syphilic screening using the standard rapid test and the results are fast so that if a positive result is found, it can be handled immediately.

"We also encourage the discovery and treatment of early cases, thereby reducing the number of pain and transmission," he said.

Imran explained that the focus of handling the Ministry of Health is very comprehensive. Because his party is focusing on finding cases by conducting syphilic early screening at the population level, especially vulnerable and high risk populations.

Sebelumnya, Juru Bicara Kemenkes Mohammad Syahril mengingatkan penyakit seperti HIV, sifilis, dan hepatitis B adalah tiga penyakit menular seksual berbahaya yang ditularkan secara langsung dari Ibu ke anaknya, terjadi sejak dalam kandungan, saat proses kelahiran, atau saat menyusui.Dalam Undang Undang Nomor 35 tahun 2014 tentang kesehatan pada pasal 46 menyatakan bahwa baik negara, pemerintah, pemerintah daerah, keluarga, dan orang tua wajib mengusahakan agar anak yang lahir terhindar dari penyakit yang mengancam kelangsungan hidup dan/atau menimbulkan kecacatan.Dengan demikian, Syahril mengimbau agar masyarakat setia pada pasangan masing-masing dan menghindari perilaku seks yang berisiko sebagai upaya mencegah penularan penyakit sifilis meluas.
