New Formula E 2023 Tickets Sold 40 Percent, DKI Provincial Government Reluctant To Interfere

JAKARTA - The Formula E racing event will be held in less than one month. However, ticket sales have only touched 40 percent or around 8 thousand tickets out of a total of 20 thousand tickets sold.

Meanwhile, the DKI Provincial Government does not want to interfere in dealing with ticket sales that have not been sold out. DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Joko Agus Setyono emphasized that Formula E is no longer a government activity.

Different from 2022, Formula E this year has a business to business (B2B) scheme between PT Jakarta Propertindo BUMD and Formula E Operation.

"That's actually the program of BUMD Jakpro with B2B. So, local governments are not involved at all," said Joko when met at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Thursday, May 11.

When Formula E was planned for the time of Anies Baswedan to serve as Governor of DKI, the commitment fee of Rp560 billion was indeed disbursed by the DKI Provincial Government through the APBD. However, Joko emphasized that his party is no longer allocating any budget for the electric car racing event.

"Now the local government has no longer issued a small amount for the current implementation of Formula E. That is their business (Jakpro)," he said.

In general, the implementation of Formula E in 2023 is no different from last year. PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) as the organizer provides several categories of viewing tickets that they sell.

There are tickets for the festival's circuit category that sell for IDR 750 thousand. Spectators in this category are welcome to occupy 6 areas without spectator seats.

Then, there is a grandstand ticket, placed on chairs spread across 9 areas around the circuit. This ticket sells for IDR 1 million to IDR 1.5 million per day.

Meanwhile, VIP class tickets in the demand category category are priced at IDR 10 million per day and the royal category sells for IDR 12 million per day.

The electric car racing event which was held in Ancol, North Jakarta was also enlivened by the performances of domestic and foreign musicians. Among them are Alan Walker, Angger Dimas, DJ Yasmin, Judika, Kla Project, Rossa, and RAN.
