Latest Developments In Dito Mahendra's Illegal Senpi Case, Dozens Of Witnesses And Experts Examined

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police continues to investigate cases of illegal possession of firearms (senpi) with the suspect Dito Mahendra. 18 witnesses have been questioned.

"Investigators have examined 17 witnesses and 1 expert, so that the number of witnesses who have been examined is 18 people," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Nurul Azizah to reporters, Wednesday, May 10.

In addition, investigators are still looking for his whereabouts. Dito Mahendra's name has also been included in the People's Wanted List (DPO).

Dito became a fugitive based on the Wanted List Number DPO/8/5/Res.1.17/2023 Tipidum on behalf of Mahendra Dito Sampurna.

Based on the issuance of the DPO, all ranks of the National Police in the territory of Indonesia will look for the whereabouts of Dito.

Meanwhile, the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Djuhandani Rahardjo Puro said Dito Mahendra had been on the DPO since May 4.

However, for now there is no bright spot regarding its whereabouts. The team from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police is still looking for clues about this matter.

"This is being sought by members," said Djuhandani.

The issuance of the DPO against Dito Mahendra was deemed indiscriminate in dealing with cases of alleged illegal possession. He never fulfilled the examination, both at the investigation and investigation stage.

During the investigation process, Dito Mahendra did not fulfill the summons for examination as a witness twice. Even after being a suspect.

In fact, on the previous occasion, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police had issued the name Dito Mahendra as a fugitive if he was not present at the examination today.

Currently, Dito Mahendra is a suspect in the case of ownership of 9 illegal rifles. Because, an official ownership permit was found.

Firearms that were declared illegal included the Code 17, S&W Revolver, the 19 Zev Clock pistol, and the Angstatd Arms pistol.

Then the Noveske Reflections, AK 101, the Heckler & Koch G 36 rifle, the Heckler & Koch MP 5 pistol, and the Walther air rifle.

In this case, Dito Mahendra is threatened with life imprisonment or 20 years. Dito can be charged with Emergency Law number 12 of 1951.
