BOGOR - The Bogor City Government finally decided to re-implement two directions around the Bogor Palace. This was chosen following several inputs and studies in the field after the closure of the Otista Bridge.

"Traffic engineering by re-imposing two directions at several SSA points. So, starting at 21.00 WIB, this scenario will run. We will prepare infrastructure related to water barriers, eliminating separator or road islands, and adding traffic lights in the Captain Muslihat area," said Bogor Mayor Bima Arya in his statement, Tuesday, May 9.

The point that will be two directions is from Jalan Jalak Harupat or around Sempur Field to Jalan Juanda. Then vehicles from Jalan Juanda to Empang can rotate before the Otista Bridge which is under construction.

"From the direction of City Hall, we will turn left, so we cannot cross directly to Jalak Harupat, enter Sudirman. So in essence, this two-way scenario will emphasize a lot of left turnover, bend to left. In detail, this distribution will be distributed starting tonight so that residents can understand it and adjust it," he said.

This change in traffic engineering conveyed the results of the Bogor City Forkompimda meeting and the aspirations of the community. In its implementation, it will continue to be refined and re-evaluated.

"This is our answer to the aspirations of the residents, to be re-imposed in two directions after going through various studies. But of course, we will continue to analyze this concept in the field regarding its implementation and we will continue to perfect it. So basically, our consideration is to increase travel time, reduce economic impact, and revive the wheels of the economy and others," he explained.

Meanwhile, Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Pol Bismo Teguh Prakoso said his party would alert its personnel for a full 24 hours. This is to maintain the smooth running of traffic.

"We discuss, Forkopimda, transportation experts, community input, calculating quiet areas so as to divide the crowd. We are ready to secure the smooth flow of traffic," said Bismo.
