BOGOR - Bogor City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that there were 30 natural disasters that occurred in Bogor City throughout April 2023.

Head of BPBD Bogor City, Teofilo Patrocinio Freitas said the 30 natural disasters consisted of landslides, floods, strong winds, fallen trees, and collapsed houses.

"Of the 30 natural disasters, there were 13 landslides and collapsed ground, 1 flood point, 1 strong wind incident, 3 fallen trees, 8 collapsed buildings, 3 fires and 1 animal rescue incident," said Teofilo, quoted on Monday, May 8.

He explained that of the 30 natural disasters that occurred, 36 families (KK) with 154 people were affected.

In addition, 1 two-wheeled vehicle was affected by a fallen tree on Jalan Batu Tulis, RT 1, RW 1, Batu Tulis Village, South Bogor. 1 educational facility building at Cilendek 4 Elementary School was affected by a landslide in Karya Bakti Village, RT 3, RW 3, Cilendek Village, West Bogor," he explained.

He also revealed that there were 15 houses affected by the disaster, 6 of which suffered minor damage and 9 were severely damaged.

However, Teofilo explained that in the April 2023 period, the number of natural disasters in Bogor City was relatively lower than the previous month.

"The number of landslides has decreased significantly, and with high rainy weather conditions without strong winds, the Bogor City area did not experience any dangerous events," he concluded.
