JAKARTA - The police arrested the perpetrator who beat the Trans Metro Pasundan bus driver whose video footage of the incident had gone viral on social media in the last few days.
Bandung Police Chief Commissioner Budi Sartono said the perpetrator of the beating was Hendra Yoska alias HY (49), a resident of Mandalajati, Bandung City.
HY was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bandung Sumur Police together with the Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit on Friday, May 5 in the morning.
The arrest was based on a report made by the victim who was a TMP bus driver named Budi Kustiana to the Sumur Bandung Police.
"In this case, we apply Article 352 of the Criminal Code regarding minor acts of persecution," Budi said when releasing HY's arrest, Friday, May 5, was confiscated by Antara.
Budi revealed that from the results of the interim examination of the suspect HY, it was known that the beating was motivated by the perpetrator's vehicle and the bus driven by the victim almost colliding.
The perpetrator, who did not accept the victim's driving, immediately cut the victim's bus road and stopped it.
After that, the perpetrator immediately approached the victim on the bus and beat him.
"We also secured a car belonging to the perpetrator which we used as evidence," he said.
