TNI-Polri Intensify Joint Patrols To Anticipate KKB Terror In Intan Jaya

JAYYAPURA - Intan Jaya Police Chief AKBP Afrizal Asri said TNI-Polri personnel are currently intensifying joint patrols to anticipate disturbances by armed criminal groups (KKB).

"The joint TNI-Polri patrol continues to provide a sense of security for the community. Community activities in Sugapa are relatively normal," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 28.

Currently, people are doing normal activities in the market and banking. The public is asked not to be influenced by issues that are deliberately raised by irresponsible parties, including those carried out by KKB members.

"Many issues are circulating, but the public is expected not to be affected because the TNI-Polri security forces are always on standby to provide a sense of security," he said.

In addition to conducting joint patrols, he said, his party appealed to community leaders to help provide understanding to residents not to believe hoax news.

"The TNI-Polri are trying to provide a sense of security to the people in Sugapa and its surroundings so that it is hoped that they will not be easily provoked by issues that are deliberately raised by the KKB and its groups," he explained.

KKB since Sunday (23/4) attacked and opened fire on security forces on duty in Intan Jaya Regency, including attacking civilians.
